Everybody has been eagerly anticipating the NBA debut of Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, and barring a catastrophe in the next day, we’re finally going to see it happen when the Sixers face the Boston Celtics in their preseason opener on Tuesday.

Embiid will be on a minutes restriction as the team eases him into action, although head coach Brett Brown isn’t sure just how much the big man will play:

It does look like Embiid will start, though:

Embiid missed the first two seasons of his NBA career due to multiple foot surgeries. The Sixers drafted him No. 3 overall in 2014 knowing he’d likely miss his entire first season thanks to a surgery before the draft, but a setback resulted in him missing his second season as well.

There will be plenty of hype surrounding Embiid’s first appearance on an NBA floor, and there may be even more now that 2016 top pick Ben Simmons is out with a broken foot. However, while the big man’s talent is evident, people still must be patient given how much time he’s missed. As he likes to say: “Trust the process.”

Eyes will also be on Euro sensation Dario Saric when he joins Embiid on the floor in making his Sixers debut. With Simmons out, Saric is set to get the start at the 4:

Saric was already expected to play a key role on the team, but now his role will expand thanks to Simmons’ unfortunate injury, which could offer some silver lining.

On a down note, center Jahil Okafor will not play on Tuesday.
