DeMar DeRozan became the first player in Toronto Raptors history to start a season with three consecutive 30-point games thanks to a 33-point effort in a 105-102 win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.

DeRozan has been on fire to start the 2016-17 campaign, and he went 13-of-23 from the field in the narrow win over Denver. He’s now shooting 53.8 percent after three games, with nearly all of those shot attempts coming from inside the arc.

In fact, DeRozan has scored all his points (105 in total) without hitting a single three-pointer. He’s 0-of-4 from long range thus far, making him the first player since Kobe Bryant in 2005 to start a season with three consecutive 30-point games without knocking down a trey.

Here’s a look at his basic zone shot chart, which naturally features all green inside the arc:

None of these numbers are sustainable, as he’s way above league average in all three of those two-point zones. As DeRozan is wont to do, plenty of shots have come from the mid-range area, and those will stop falling at that rate at some point. But all the credit in the world should go to the All-Star as he leads the Raptors during his scorching start.

Toronto is now 2-1 on the season after the victory over Denver. Fellow All-Star Kyle Lowry complemented DeRozan as he often does with 29 points on 10-of-20 shooting, and the point guard added seven assists to his ledger as well. Lowry’s big night was a breath of fresh air after a rocky first two games.
