The Milwaukee Bucks traded for Michael Beasley in the immediate wake of the Khris Middleton hamstring injury, but the team isn’t done looking for help on the wing to try to make up for Middleton’s six-month absence. ESPN’s Zach Lowe reported Thursday that the Bucks have called the Sacramento Kings about Ben McLemore, and ESPN’s Marc Stein followed that up Friday by reporting Milwaukee offered up guard Michael Carter-Williams in a trade proposal for McLemore.

The Kings are on the lookout for a point guard thanks to Darren Collison’s domestic violence suspension, but they didn’t bite on this Bucks offer. Sacramento does have Ty Lawson and Garrett Temple to man the position for the time being, so they apparently don’t feel the need to give up on McLemore — who’s disappointed with the Kings — in order to get Carter-Williams when Collison is only going to miss eight games:

With the Kings apparently shutting down this trade offer, the Bucks will continue to seek out deals for a wing upgrade. Both Carter-Williams and Greg Monroe have been rumored to be on the trade block for a while, and Lowe noted in his report that the Bucks are willing to move either player in the right deal.

Milwaukee traded away Brandon Knight to get Carter-Williams at the 2015 trade deadline, but the move has backfired and Carter-Williams is set to come off the bench this season. The Bucks’ big acquisition of Monroe last summer also hasn’t turn out as planned, and he too will be coming off the bench in 2016-17 if he doesn’t get dealt.
