Andre Drummond is already a terrifying shot blocker, a devastating dunker, a voracious rebounder and perhaps the best Instagram/Twitter flirt in the NBA. He is not, however, a particularly effective post player. But as Zach Lowe wrote in November, Stan Van Gundy is working aggressively to develop that part of Drummond’s game, and it looks like it’s starting to pay off:
Now, the Hawks aren’t really worried about beating the Pistons at the end of March, so that might not be the staunchest defense. But that’s still Andre Drummond faking out Paul Millsap and Al Horford multiple times on the way to a clean up-and-under finish. If that’s an indication of things to come, well … Drummond with a post game is like a fully cogent Hulk wearing Tony Stark’s armor. Completely unfair.
