Kings Owner Vivek Ranadive Doesn’t Want to Trade DeMarcus Cousins

Sacramento Kings head coach George Karl caused a bit of a stir by saying no player on the roster is untradeable, leading to some speculation that DeMarcus Cousins could be traded if the right move came along. Kings owner Vivek Ranadive tried to squash those rumors on Monday night at the Golden State Warriors’ home playoff game:

Well, part of the reason those rumors are out there are because the head coach fueled the flames with his own comments. Of course, it’s no surprise that Ranadive would say this type of stuff. Even if the Kings had any plans to shop Cousins in the offseason, the owner certainly wouldn’t come out and say that.

Even with all the trade chatter, though, it seems unlikely that Sacramento will trade Cousins. His big extension just kicked in, and he just had the most productive season of his career, although he did only play 59 games. But you’d think the Kings would try and build around Cousins for a few more seasons before blowing it up and dealing away their star.
