Spurs housekeeping: working toward finaliIng two year deal for Tim Duncan ($5M first year, player option for second year).

Considering Duncan’s production last season, getting him at $5 million a year is an absolute steal. He of course took less to help with the LaMarcus Aldridge pursuit, and Aldridge officially signed with the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday. Who knows if Duncan actually plays that second year, but I wouldn’t rule it out if he has another strong season.
As for Garnett:
AP Sources: Kevin Garnett's 2-year deal with the Timberwolves will be worth $16 million.

Garnett certainly doesn’t have the same on-court value as Duncan at this point, but The Big Ticket will play an important role as a mentor for all the young guys on the Minnesota Timberwolves, including No. 1 overall pick Karl-Anthony Towns. That’s probably not worth $8 million a year, but it’s not a contract that’ll hinder the Wolves moving forward. And once Garnett’s career is over, he’ll likely join the front office or make his bid to buy the team.
