I didn’t watch the Golden State Warriors’ cruel 119-69 annihilation of the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night (Suns-Clippers was fun!), but I felt like I watched the game because every other minute there was some ridiculous Stephen Curry Vine popping across my Twitter feed. The Warriors are basically a real-life NBA 2K squad right now, and they look better than ever.
Just look at this:
And then those poor, hopeless Grizzlies, who’ve gotten punked against both legitimate opponents they’ve played this year (they lost 106-76 to Cleveland):
-44 for Courtney Lee. MINUS FORTY FOUR. Shouts to Beno Udrih and Jordan Adams for finishing +1 and +4, respectively.
But back to the stars of the show here. With the 50-point win, the Warriors have outscored their opponents (Grizzlies, Pelicans 2x, Rockets; all teams they beat in the playoffs last year) by 100 points through four games. Whaddya know, that’s a record:
Best Scoring Margin Through 4 Games
2015-16 Warriors +100
1961-62 Celtics +99

Let’s take a look at some net ratings, shall we (via NBA.com):
It’s a demolition no matter who’s on the court.
As for Curry, he’s currently averaging 37.0 points, 6.3 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals. He has 148 points on the season:

Those 148 points have come IN 127 MINUTES! The man is scoring 1.17 points per minute. He’s got a shooting slash line of 59.5/48.8/96.4. He has three 20-point quarters already. Come on.
And how about a sample of his plays from Monday’s destruction:

I literally LOL’d after seeing this last one. Every single night, this guy and this team show out like the Harlem Globetrotters. It’s way too early to start thinking about 73 wins (or even 70, really), but if these guys stay healthy, I wouldn’t put it past them. And you can make an argument that Curry is the best player in the league right now.
Next up for the Warriors? The rival Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday. Get ya popcorn ready.
