Brooklyn Nets forward Thaddeus Young will miss Friday night’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers because of a strained left knee:

Young suffered the injury against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night. It looked a lot worse than just a strain, so it’s good news that he shouldn’t miss much time, although the injury doesn’t come at a great time for Brooklyn. The Nets are 30-40 and a half-game behind the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference.
Young has been excellent since being traded by the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Garnett. The 26-year-old is averaging 13.6 points and 5.1 rebounds while shooting 49.5 percent overall and 48.6 percent from three since the trade. For the Nets’ sake, hopefully the forward isn’t out too long.
UPDATE: With Young hurting for the time being, the Nets have brought in Earl Clark on a 10-day contract:

Clark played in China this season before joining Brooklyn.
