Atlanta Hawks swingman Thabo Sefolosha was cleared of all three charges against him stemming from an April incident with the NYPD outside a New York City nightclub, and now Sefolosha is coming after the city and eight cops for up to $50 million for injuries that occurred that night, according to Rebecca Rosenberg and Julia Marsh of the New York Post.

Sefolosha suffered a broken leg in the incident, and he alleges the injury was caused by the police and that it caused him to “become substantially disabled.”¬†Furthermore, the legal notice he filed said the “damages are permanent in nature and continuing into the future.”

Sefolosha missed the rest of last season and spent all offseason rehabbing, although he did just return to the court for Atlanta. But even though the 31-year-old is back on the court, his lawyer said the injuries will affect him the rest of his career.
