Thabo Sefolosha Found Not Guilty of All 3 Charges in NYPD Incident

Jason Getz/USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta Hawks forward Thabo Sefolosha has been found not guilty of all three charges brought against him after an incident involving the NYPD outside a New York City night club in April.

Sefolosha and former teammate Pero Antic were arrested for their role in the incident and charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest, obstructing government administration and disorderly conduct. Sefolosha broke his leg that night and is still recovering, and he said police caused the injury.

Sefolosha turned down a plea deal because he wanted to go to trial and clear his name. He’s successfully done that, and now he has to decide whether or not he’s going to go after the NYPD in civil court for injuring him. The veteran appears to have a pretty good case, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this saga continue.
