According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Washington Wizards will acquire Jared Dudley from the Milwaukee Bucks for a heavily protected draft pick that will likely become a second rounder.
The tweet from Stein:
ESPN sources say that the Washington Wizards are closing in on a trade for Milwaukee's Jared Dudley. On course to be completed July 9
— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) July 2, 2015
Dudley would replace the void left by Paul Pierce, who will sign with the Clippers. Dudley can play small forward or power forward in a small lineup, much like Pierce did. Dudley is a career 39 percent three-point shooter, which matches what Pierce shot last season.
The Wizards will be responsible for Dudley’s $4.25 million contract that he opted-in to in Milwaukee.
