Ranking the Top-5 Home Courts in the NBA

Home court advantage in the NBA is huge; a great crowd behind you can be the difference between a win and a loss in a tight, seven game series in the playoffs. Teams fight until the very end of the 82 game season because they know how important home court advantage is, so today we take a look at the five best home arenas in the league. The best home courts all share similar characteristics: loud, boisterous arenas, a loyal and educated fan base and the rarity of a victory for the visiting team.

Looking at a team’s record at home can be sometimes deceiving, as it is more indicative of how good a team is rather than how much advantage the team enjoys at home. Take the Indiana Pacers, for example. They were a pedestrian 23-18 at home this year, but just a year ago they had the best record in the Eastern Conference and their home record was 35-6. Teams with great players typically come out victorious no matter the situation, but a great home court is enjoyed by teams through the ups and the downs.
