Oh how the tides can turn. Since his arrival in Los Angeles, Clippers guard Austin Rivers has been nearly the butt of all basketball related jokes. Going into the playoffs, it seemed the Clippers’ starting five was going to be gassed as Rivers and their second unit were deemed utterly useless.
But Friday night during Game 3 against the Rockets, Doc Jr. had one of his best performances of the season off the bench (25 points on 13 FG attempts and six boards), helping his team go up 2-1 on Houston. While James Harden scored the same amount with 13 more minutes of play, Austin deserved his celebration:
Seriously, Harden went from being a near MVP to getting mocked and outplayed by the coach’s son who was almost forced out of the league. Life comes at you fast.
