Paul George Practices Fully with Pacers

Considering the horrific nature of Paul George’s leg injury with Team USA in the summer, it’s amazing to think about a possible return this season. But George is hoping to return sometime in March, and he took one step closer to that return to the floor when he practiced fully for the first time on Thursday:

Indiana Pacers head coach Frank Vogel insisted there’s still no timetable for George’s return and the swingman still has a long way to go before he’s ready for game action. George himself said the same thing:

George told Yahoo! Sports’ Marc Spears two weeks ago that he was eyeing a return on March 14 against the Boston Celtics. The Pacers could use George back in the lineup to give a boost to an offense that ranks in the bottom third of the NBA. Indiana is just a game out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, and any little bit of improvement could make all the difference in the world.

However, the Pacers must be careful about not putting too much pressure on George when he comes back. It would be foolish to throw him out there and play him big minutes and expect him to take on his old role right away. He’ll need some time to get back into the swing of things before he’s truly the Paul George of old.
