Russell Westbrook notched his second straight triple-double on Thursday night against the Phoenix Suns, putting up 39 points, 14 boards and 11 assists. Russell Westbrook also shot 12-of-38 overall and 1-of-10 from three in a 117-113 overtime loss.
This of course led to plenty of conversation about Westbrook shooting too much, and it was obviously a talking point on the TNT postgame show that I didn’t watch because it’s becoming unwatchable.
Does Westbrook shoot too much sometimes? Yes. Would it be nice if he was a bit more efficient? Yes. But as it has been said for several years, #LetWestbrookBeWestbrook. And that leads me to the tweet of the night:
If they won we wouldn't be saying a word. Russ just is. He's not becoming Chris Paul anytime soon. Russ attacks attacks attacks

Westbrook’s relentless, attacking nature has gotten him into the MVP conversation despite missing 14 games this season. He has been the best player in the NBA in February. He had a bad game against the Suns, and that bad game had him putting up 39/14/11. So yeah, I’m definitely willing to cut the guy a little slack.
