To even the most avid NBA draft enthusiasts, after hours of sweating it out and checking Twitter updates to keep up with the movement throughout the draft, the second round is time to get a bathroom break, or better yet, change the channel. The second round is when Commissioner Adam Silver calls a quits, the TV analysts sound like they’re ready to take a nap, and random Europeans who sound like they came from a random name generator are selected.
The general public may let the second round fall by the wayside, but that doesn’t alter its significance. Within just the last few years, players like Lance Stephenson, Chandler Parsons, Isaiah Thomas, and of course, the heart of the NBA champions, Draymond Green, have fallen to the second round.
To add to the phenomenal work done by my colleague Ben Stram, here’s three more second round picks that can make a major impact down the road. I already covered Dakari Johnson and Pat Connaughton, so I’ll take a look at some different players.
