Mikhail Prokhorov Set to Gain Sole Ownership of Nets, Barclays Center

Debby Wong/USA TODAY Sports

Brooklyn Nets majority owner Mikhail Prokhorov is set to gain sole ownership of the team and Barclays Center, according to Bloomberg’s Scott Soshnick.

Prokhorov currently owns 80 percent of the Nets and 45 percent of the stadium, and now he’s set to purchase the rest of the shares from real estate developer Bruce Ratner, who’s been looking to sell his shares for quite some time. Gaining sole ownership of both will make it easier for Prokhorov to sell all or part of either asset if/when he looks to do such a thing.

The NBA is currently reviewing the deal, the terms of which haven’t been disclosed, per Soshnick.
