Rajon Rondo and Rick Carlisle sparred during Tuesday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors, which led to Carlisle benching the moody point guard the rest of the game. Interestingly enough, the Dallas Mavericks went on a big run without Rondo and came away with an impressive victory.
On Wednesday, word came from the Mavericks that Rondo was suspended for the night’s game against the Atlanta Hawks:
Rondo suspended one game (tonight vs Atlanta). Conduct detrimental to team

Yowza. The Rondo trade hasn’t exactly worked out as planned for Dallas, as although the defense has improved, the high-octane offense has sputtered when he has been on the court. His poor shooting in general has hurt the team, and his free throw shooting has been a complete embarrassment. Not only does he not get to the line, but he can’t make free throws the few times he gets there.
Now one of the NBA’s best coaches in Carlisle is upset with him. That’s not good, and the way it’s looking right now, it might be a short stint in Dallas for Rondo as he heads to free agency in the offseason.
