JaVale McGee will clear waivers on Wednesday after being cut by the Philadelphia 76ers, and there are several playoff contenders reportedly with interest in the big man:
Mavs and Heat are two known teams interested in JaVale McGee but sense is there are more. McGee due to clear waivers at 5 PM Wednesday

While McGee hasn’t been much of an NBA player over the past few years, the Mavericks and Heat at least make some sense as a destination. Dallas could use another big man even after signing Amar’e Stoudemire and Bernard James, while Miami could use one as well thanks to Chris Bosh’s situation. A bench trio of McGee, Chris Andersen and Michael Beasley would be quite something, though.
This interest is a bit more surprising:

“Insurance for Andrew Bogut” is a bit of a stretch, considering McGee hasn’t exactly been the most reliable of players. Bringing in the big man would be an interesting move for a Warriors team that hasn’t had many problems this season, but if this “major interest” is true, perhaps they think they can tap into his supposed potential.
