It’s hard to believe this was ejection or even technical worthy and not seen for what it really was – rivalry playoff basketball. It’s also hard to imagine league officiating being at such a poor level during the playoffs. This wasn’t what Chicago needed with the absence of Pau Gasol and with Joakim Noah playing injured. While the Bulls missed a crucial rebound down the stretch, who knows if the Bulls would have recovered it with Taj on the court.
When we hear retired NBA players speaking on the softness of the league today and recall the Charles Oakley and Bad Boy Pistons days, we mostly view it as old man ‘get-off-my-lawn-talk.’ But in this case, I’d say its well warranted.
