Marreese Speights Suspended 1 Game for Reckless Driving

Golden State Warriors reserve big man Marreese Speights has been suspended by the NBA for Friday night’s game against the Denver Nuggets due to a reckless driving charge:

Speights was originally charged with a DUI in Tampa in August, but he wound up pleading no contest to a reduced misdemeanor charge of reckless driving on Monday:

Speights is having a career season with the Warriors, averaging 11.0 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 49.7 percent from the field in 16.7 minutes per game. Needless to say, he’s not thrilled about the suspension:

With Speights out of the lineup, David Lee, who has been out of the rotation of late, will likely get more time.
