ESPN’s Brian Windhorst confirmed Sunday what many people already knew: LeBron James will opt out of his contract and become a free agent. This of course means nothing. LeBron isn’t leaving Cleveland this summer. He just wants to do what’s best for him financially, and he’ll get more money by signing another two-year deal with a player option.
The bigger question is if Kevin Love will stick around, even though he’s said time and time again that he’ll be back in Cleveland. While some remain skeptical, it’s looking like Love will indeed re-sign with the Cavaliers this summer, with multiple reports stating he’s indicated he’ll return. Cleveland plans on offering the power forward a five-year, $110 million deal, although he could opt for a shorter deal like LeBron to take advantage of the rising salary cap in 2016.
Another signal that Love is probably heading back to Cleveland is he and LeBron were spotted together hanging out in Los Angeles on Sunday:

There were rumblings that LeBron and Love weren’t all that close, so this is a good sign.
