Lakers Interested in Tom Thibodeau, per Report

The Los Angeles Lakers have had rumored interest in Tom Thibodeau before, and now that the embattled Chicago Bulls head coach appears to be on his way out of Chicago, that interest is reportedly back:

Now, while the Lakers were awful this season and Byron Scott didn’t have the greatest year himself, it seems far-fetched that Scott would be jettisoned already considering his history with the organization. But you never know:

As for Thibodeau’s situation in Chicago, it’s basically just a stalemate at this point, with neither side eager to make a move:

CBS Sports’ Ken Berger said the Bulls haven’t contacted Fred Hoiberg yet, and no other teams have requested permission to speak with Thibodeau. Chicago would like Thibodeau to find another job and also get compensation for him, because in that case, they’d get some type of asset in return and wouldn’t have to pay him any of the $9 million left on his current contract. But as of right now, there’s just nothing going on.
