Lakers Embarrass Themselves in Ongoing LaMarcus Aldridge Saga

On the new hit soap opera, “Guiding LaMarcus”…

So that’s where things started today, which saw the news come fast and furious. The Spurs re-signed Danny Green and agreed with Atlanta on a trade for them to acquire Tiago Splitter, freeing up money on San Antonio’s cap:

Then the curve ball came: Phoenix agreed to terms with Tyson Chandler:

Lakers vs. Spurs had turned into Lakers vs. Spurs vs. Suns, but only for a short time:

#PlotTwist:

So basically, don’t count out anybody except the Lakers really screwed up their meeting so they’re out and Aldridge’s camp is willing to say so privately, just not publicly.

However, no one keeps shooting from a losing position quite like the Black Mamba:

The poorly constructed meme is funny if nothing else for the image of Kobe Bryant, five-time NBA champion and first-ballot Hall of Famer, finding a website to create his meme, saving the image, scrolling through his folders to insert it into a tweet and then tweeting it out.

Like, how did Kobe decide on the one with the creepily cackling toddler?

Anyways…

Did San Antonio trade Splitter all for nothing?

Not that long after:

Keep in mind this was being reported right as other reports stated Aldridge would not be deciding tonight and would hear out the last teams on his tour.

Done for the night then, yes? Not quite:

Now, there were other tweets refuting various rumors, such as that the league required the Lakers to delete the tweets and that Kobe was fine in the meeting and it was more the Lakers not being able to lay out a path to a championship.

But it’s way more fun to ignore those and revel in the Lakers turning into something of a clown show. No one could’ve  imagined a time where this is said about the storied Los Angeles Lakers:

Meanwhile, the Clippers convinced Paul Pierce to take less to play for a winner. What a world.
