Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson suffered a sprained ankle against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night, and after further evaluation, Thompson will miss at least seven-to-10 days:

Thompson initially went to the locker room after suffering the injury, but he returned later in the game and played 35 minutes in a tight victory. Unfortunately, it turned out the injury was worse than believed.
With the Warriors holding a huge lead atop the Western Conference standings, the team has the luxury of playing it safe with Thompson. What stinks, though, is that he’ll miss the showdown against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. Still, it’s just a regular-season game that ultimately means little.
Thompson is having a breakout season, averaging 21.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting 46.3 percent overall and 43.5 percent from three.
