San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard and Detroit Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson were named Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for the week of Dec. 14-20.
Leonard led the dominant Spurs to a 3-0 record by averaging 22.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.0 steals. He shot 56.4 percent overall and continued his hot three-point shooting. He made 7-of-13 threes and is at 49 percent on the season.
Leonard’s biggest performance of the week was a 27-point effort against the Washington Wizards.
Over in the East, Jackson led the Pistons to a 2-1 record, with one of those wins a quadruple-overtime thriller over the Chicago Bulls. Jackson had 31 points, 13 assists and six rebounds in 50 minutes, and 13 of those points came in the fourth and final overtime.
For the week, Jackson averaged 29.3 points, 7.7 assists and 6.3 rebounds. He also notched 34 points against the Los Angeles Clippers last Monday, but unfortunately it came in a loss.
