Julius Randle Cleared for Non-Contact Basketball Activities

The Los Angeles Lakers’ season suffered a tough blow in the very first game of the year when prized rookie Julius Randle broke his leg. The rest of the season has gone just as poorly, with a bunch of losses and another season-ending injury to Kobe Bryant.

But a sliver of good news came on Monday:

Randle joined his teammates at practice, and he said he’s feeling strong and not feeling any pain in his leg. The rookie plans on working out with the rehabbing Kobe in the summer, and the Lakers hope both players will be big contributors next season.

Randle especially is a key cog in the Lakers’ rebuilding plan, and he’ll basically be going into next year as a rookie again. Here’s video of him putting in some work on Monday:

That’s a sight for sore eyes for Lakers fans.
