If you recall, Jimmy Butler helped seal a win for the Chicago Bulls against the Cleveland Cavaliers on opening night when he stole an inbounds pass in the final seconds. Well, Butler came up big again on the defensive end against the Indiana Pacers on Monday night:
With the Bulls clinging to a one-point lead after going up big earlier in the game, the Pacers had a chance to complete the comeback. Paul George, who’d been killing it all game, tried to take a fadeaway jumper over Butler to give Indiana the lead and a likely victory:
There may have been some contact there, but refs usually swallow their whistles in that situation unless it’s a blatant foul. So the Bulls got the win and moved to 7-3 on the year despite not looking all that good again, and despite Derrick Rose tweaking his ankle and leaving the contest in the fourth quarter (he’s supposedly fine).
