Although the Houston Rockets lost in heartbreaking fashion, we witnessed a classic duel between the league MVP and runner-up in Game 2 on Thursday night. Stephen Curry‘s 33 points were enough for his Warriors to go up 2-0 in the series, while James Harden‘s near triple-double of 38-10-9 wasn’t enough as it came down to the wire:
The whole last possession was kind of a mess. Harden pushed the ball up the court after corralling a Warriors miss, but then was slowed by the defense and missed a cutting Terrence Jones. With nowhere to go, Harden passed back out to Dwight Howard before getting the ball back in the midst of the Splash Brothers’ double-team. By then, it was all over. The Rockets had a timeout to spare, but didn’t use it.
Rightfully, Harden was frustrated:
And I’m guessing he didn’t go back later to pick that up.
Another popular theory circulating the Twittersphere was that he was feeling the wrath of rapper Lil B, who cursed Harden for not giving proper acknowledgement for his signature move:
People that steal from Lil B will pay now or later all you have to do is pay respect to the original and the leader blind ones will – Lil B

As it stands, the Based God’s curse isn’t one to be taken lightly. Ask Kevin Durant.
