Jamal Crawford Expected to Return Tuesday vs. Lakers

Los Angeles Clippers reserve guard Jamal Crawford has missed the last month with a calf injury, but the reigning Sixth Man of the Year is expected to return to the lineup against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday:

Crawford has missed the last 17 games with the injury, which was worse than initially anticipated. The Clippers went 12-5 with the guard out of the lineup, and his return should help boost a reserve unit that’s one of the worst in the league.

Crawford is the Clippers’ third-leading scorer at 16.4 points per game. He’s having a down year shooting the ball, as he’s shooting just 40.1 percent overall and 33.3 percent from three. However, the 35-year-old is getting to the free throw line just over four times per game and hitting 90.3 percent from the charity stripe.

With Crawford back, J.J. Redick and Matt Barnes will see a bit less time on the wing, although Redick has been superb this year and shouldn’t see his minutes diminished too much.
