With the NBA Trade Deadline nine days away, one of the most-commonly named players in rumors is now off the market.
The Minnesota Timberwolves traded point guard Mo Williams in a package to the Charlotte Hornets for Gary Neal.
Woj reports the deal:
Charlotte has acquired guards Mo Williams and Troy Daniels for Gary Neal and a second-round pick, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

For the Hornets, Williams can provide insurance and lessen the blow of Kemba Walker’s injury. It keeps Lance Stephenson in his more-comfortable role at shooting guard as well.
The trade market for Williams was there, but returning value is normally slim for a 32-year-old journeyman. The Timberwolves received a 2019 second-round pick and the expiring contract of Neal.
With Ricky Rubio’s return, rookie Zach LaVine won’t be buried on the bench behind both Rubio and Williams.
