Miami Heat swingman Gerald Green was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday for reasons that are still somewhat unclear, but the 29-year-old has been released, according to Miami’s Local10.com. The Heat declined comment on the situation.
Green missed Miami’s game on Tuesday night due to an “illness” before emergency personnel responded to a call from his condo that said he was unconscious in front of the valet area. When he regained consciousness, his behavior was reportedly erratic and combative, and he was taken to the hospital.
Considering the Heat declined comment, it’s obviously unclear when Green will return to the floor. Miami has a game against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night, but he won’t play.
The Heat’s next game is against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, so perhaps Green will be activated for that one. But the most important thing is getting him healthy, and hopefully that’s happening right now.
