Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade isn’t the biggest Pat Riley fan at the moment because of some contract squabbles, and there are rumors that Wade could really leave Miami if he doesn’t get the contract he wants. If things went nuclear and Wade really left, could the Los Angeles Lakers really be an option?:
While many execs still see Wade/Heat as contract saber rattling, a Wade option will be the Lakers. Mutual interest, per league sources.

The Lakers will have boatloads of cap space this summer, so they could theoretically offer a fat contract. Of course, Wade likely won’t be too high on the priority list considering the other free agents on the board.
But what if we get to a point where the Lakers’ primary targets are gone and Wade is still on the board looking to go elsewhere? Would Los Angeles be willing to throw a big deal in his direction? It would certainly seem like a foolish thing to do given his declining health and the status of the roster, but with the cap rising in 2016 and Kobe Bryant‘s massive deal coming off the books, perhaps they wouldn’t see it as too big an issue.
However, while Wade can still play when healthy, he’s just not a great fit for the Lakers at this time. Los Angeles should tread lightly.
