Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade has had a history of knee troubles, and Wade just recently had his left knee drained in an attempt to be healthy for the stretch run. However, Wade hurt that left knee again when he slipped in the second quarter of the Heat’s blowout loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.
It’s unclear if Wade is going to miss any time with what has been called a knee bruise, but he posted this message to Instagram after the game:
My mood after the half split i had in the first half tonite.. i wanna thank ALL my fans/family and supporters for reaching out. God is good because it could have been alot worst. I pray that i can join my team at some point on this road trip because we are still in this playoff hunt. Keep believing… #heatnation
By losing to the Cavaliers, Miami fell to the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference, tied with the ninth-seeded Boston Celtics. The Heat play in Detroit against the Pistons on Saturday.
When healthy, Wade has been dynamite for Miami this season, averaging 21.4 points, 4.9 assists and 3.6 rebounds while shooting 47.6 percent from the field. Wade was especially good in March as the Heat continued to deal with a litany of injuries. With Chris Bosh out for the season and others hurting as well, Miami needs Wade on the court for this final playoff push.
