Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose spoke to the media in advance of the Bulls’ game against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, and Rose reiterated that he plans to return this season, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune:
“Oh yeah, I’m not worried about that,” Rose said. “I’m feeling good. I’m trying to do all the right things. Put all the positives in the bag and just try to go with it. It’s something that I’ve been doing for a long time. Rehab is definitely a grind. But I’m getting used to it.”
Rose said he doesn’t have any pain or swelling in his right knee. The point guard had part of his meniscus removed from that knee on Feb. 27, and he was initially expected to miss four-to-six weeks. He remains right on schedule.
The next step is for Rose to take contact, and he said that should happen either this week or next week. After that, it should be another week or two before he’s able to return to the court, which will be right in time for the postseason.
