Sacramento Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins enjoyed a monster week as the Kings won three straight games, so Boogie was rewarded with Western Conference Player of the Week honors.
Cousins averaged 32.5 points and 11 rebounds in four games last week, but if you just look at Sacramento’s three-game winning streak, those averages were 36.3 points and 10.7 rebounds on 51.4 percent shooting overall and 60 (!!!) percent from long range. One of those games was a 40-point, 13-rebound effort.
Over in the Eastern Conference, Charlotte Hornets swingman Nicolas Batum won Eastern Conference Player of the Week thanks to four stellar performances.
Batum got off to a pretty slow start with his new team, but everything came together last week. In four games, he averaged 25.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists as the Hornets went 3-1. He shot a scorching 56.9 percent overall and 57.7 from three. His biggest performance came in his last game when he put up 33 points, six assists and five rebounds in a win over his former team.
