Los Angeles Clippers big man DeAndre Jordan will meet with the Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and Milwaukee Bucks when free agency begins, according to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times.
The Clippers can offer Jordan the most money with a five-year, $108 million max deal, but Turner says the rumors of a rift with star point guard Chris Paul are true. Jordan reportedly desires a larger role on offense and wants to be an All-Star, and he’s concerned that can’t happen playing in the shadows of Paul and Blake Griffin.
If Jordan wants to go elsewhere, the Mavericks are viewed as the most likely destination. He’s from Texas and went to college in Texas, and Dallas will have plenty of cap space to make a four-year, $80 million max offer. The Lakers and Bucks are also set to have max cap space as well, but they seem to be less likely options for Jordan.
