D’Angelo Russell Reportedly Cancels 76ers Visit Because He’s ‘Real Sick’

With most people thinking Karl-Anthony Towns and Jahlil Okafor will be the first two picks in the draft, the consensus has been that Ohio State point guard D’Angelo Russell will go No. 3 to the Philadelphia 76ers. With that in mind, some alarm bells went off when this came across the wire Friday morning:

And then there was this:

This all came on the heels of DraftExpress going with Porzingis to the Sixers over Russell in their latest mock draft. WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN?!

It looks like it means nothing, as Pompey reports that Russell canceled the visit because he’s “real sick.” The talented point guard could still work out for the Sixers before the draft on June 25.

Despite this report that Russell is sick, I’m sure there will still be some who are skeptical about all this. Some will say Russell is trying to avoid Philly. Some will say the Los Angeles Lakers gave him a promise at No. 2. There’s a lot of smoke that goes around during draft time, so sometimes it’s hard to know what’s really going on.
