The Los Angeles Clippers already made a deal this offseason by acquiring Lance Stephenson, but Arash Markazi of ESPN Los Angeles reports Doc Rivers is trying to do more wheeling and dealing, with Denver Nuggets swingman Wilson Chandler as the target.
The Clippers explored a deal for Chandler this past season, but nothing materialized, and it’s hard to see much changing now. The rumor involves Jamal Crawford and 2014 first-round pick C.J. Wilcox heading to the Nuggets, and that’s not all that enticing for Denver.
Crawford still has some value as a quick-strike scorer off the bench, but he’s 35 and is close to the end of the line. Wilcox was a non-factor for the Clippers in his rookie season, playing in just 21 games and not playing a single minute in the postseason, which isn’t a great sign for a team that lacked depth.
A more realistic option for the Clippers this offseason may be Paul Pierce, who’s reportedly considering a move to Los Angeles.
