Milwaukee Bucks big man Greg Monroe has a sprained MCL and will miss Wednesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers, the team announced.
Monroe recently suffered the injury in practice and missed the Bucks’ disastrous 113-95 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night. It’s unclear just how long he’ll be out, but it’s not expected to be too long.
John Henson and Miles Plumlee will continue to split the center duties like they did in Los Angeles. The duo combined for 16 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks in the loss.
Monroe has had a productive year in his first season in Milwaukee. The 25-year-old is averaging 16.2 points and 9.8 rebounds while shooting 52.5 percent from the field in 31.4 minutes per game.
Unfortunately, that hasn’t helped the Bucks avoid a disappointing 10-16 start to the season after their surprising run to the postseason. The hope was that the stunning victory over the then-undefeated Golden State Warriors (a game in which Monroe dominated) over the weekend would help spur a turnaround, but then Milwaukee took a major step back in the loss in Los Angeles.
