The Brooklyn Nets’ season has been a disaster thus far, and things went from bad to worse when center Brook Lopez left Saturday night’s loss to the Milwaukee Bucks with a sore right foot. However, Lopez isn’t expected to miss any time and plans to suit up in the Nets’ next game against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, according to Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski.
Lopez has undergone three surgeries on his right foot, so naturally there was plenty of concern when he left Saturday’s game with the soreness in that foot. But luckily for him and the Nets, X-rays were negative and the issue isn’t serious.
Of course, it may not make much of a difference for Brooklyn. The Nets are 0-7 to start the season and have shown little promise on either end of the floor. They have the worst offense in the league to go along with a bottom five defense, so Lopez or not, things have gone poorly.
That being said, Lopez has put up solid numbers this season. The 27-year-old is averaging 20.4 points and 7.7 rebounds while shooting 53.5 percent overall in 33.1 minutes per game. Plus,if Lopez did have to miss time, that would mean a much larger role for Andrea Bargnani, which isn’t a good thing.
