Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin still isn’t ready to return from surgery to remove a staph infection in his right elbow:

It has been about a month since Griffin had the surgery, and initial projections had him potentially missing six weeks, so it looks like he may miss that much time. That’s probably the smart play, especially because the Clippers have performed much better than anticipated without Griffin, thanks in large part to the brilliant play of Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan.
Los Angeles is 7-4 without Griffin, with wins over the three Texas teams, Memphis Grizzlies and Chicago Bulls. The Clippers are 40-22 and fifth in the Western Conference.
Of course, Los Angeles needs Griffin if its going to win anything in the postseason. Before going down with the injury, Griffin was averaging 22.5 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 50.1 percent from the field.
