Bargain Bin Free Agents in 2015 Class

With a salary cap that’s projected to explode through the roof over the next several seasons, the NBA’s free-agent marketplace is about to get wild. Teams that have cap space this season would be wise to use it to their advantage(s) with every team poised to acquire cap space for the 2016 offseason, and a decision that’s made this summer could be the difference between success or failure for a franchise over the next several seasons.

Despite the 2015 class being headlined by max contract candidates like Marc Gasol, LaMarcus Aldridge, Jimmy Butler, Kawhi Leonard and Tristan Thompson (?!), not every team is going to be shopping in the big fish aisle. Some clubs will be looking to make their improvements in the margins, and if Chopped has taught us anything, it’s that one wrong ingredient can bring down the appeal of an entire dish. It’s not much different when building a basketball team.

3-and-D wings, rim-protecting bigs and stretch bigs are in high demand in an NBA that’s different than the one your father watched, and these three players represent nice value buys for clubs that don’t want to break the bank.
