Anthony Davis Out vs. Suns After Injuring Ankle at Shootaround

The New Orleans Pelicans have an important game against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night, but MVP candidate Anthony Davis won’t be participating because of a sprained ankle suffered at shootaround:

This is certainly an inopportune time for Davis to be hurt again, as the Pelicans are a half-game behind the Oklahoma City Thunder (who are dealing with their own injury problems) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. And don’t forget that the Suns are 2½ games behind New Orleans.

This will be Davis’s 13th missed game this season. The Pelicans are 6-6 in the 12 games Davis has missed prior to Thursday night.
