Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans collided with Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers in the midst of a blowout at the hands fo the Los Angeles Clippers and was carried off to the locker room.
The Pelicans reported that it was a “right knee contusion” and he is questionable to return, though, that he was carried off makes it unlikely.
Rob Mahoney of Sports Illustrated was not impressed with Paul’s “gamesmanship.”
Chris Paul’s “gamesmanship” just cost the Pelicans Anthony Davis. All fun and games until the foul jockeying starts costing superstars.

Davis went down grabbing his right leg and was not able to stand up. Paul seemed to experience a bit of pain on the collision as well but didn’t appear to be injured on the play. Davis averaging 23.5 point and 10.8 boards to date this season.
As stellar as Davis’ time on the court during his brief NBA career, he’s had trouble staying there. In his first season, he missed 18 games. In his second, he missed 15, then 14 last year. In the current campaign, he’s already missed three, and it seems that more could be ahead, though, that isn’t official yet.
Davis’ injury is not the only challenge that Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry has faced this year. Jrue Holiday is on a minutes restriction and has missed four games. Omer Asik has missed eight. And Tyreke Evans has yet to play a game this season, though, he could be due for a return soon.
The injuries are so bad that the Pelicans have had to play 11 different starting lineups in 15 games, and now it seems they may have a new one for Game 16.
