Adam Silver Addresses Multiple Issues After Board of Governor’s Meeting

NBA commissioner Adam Silver spoke to the media after the NBA’s annual Board of Governors meeting in Las Vegas, and Silver hit on a variety of issues during his press conference. Here’s a roundup of what he addressed.

Playoff Seeding

This change was spurred on by the Portland Trail Blazers getting the No. 4 seed ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs despite having a worse record. It’s a change that makes perfect sense.

The Moratorium

The moratorium came under fire thanks to the DeAndre Jordan fiasco, but it looks like it’s not going away anytime soon.

Another rule involving Jordan, and we’re going to see more games involving awful free throw shooters bricking free throw after free throw.

New Labor Deal

Battle lines are already being drawn in advance of possible labor negotiations in 2017. It’s highly likely there will be an opt-out of the current CBA, and there may be another lockout.

New Arenas and Expansion

The Bucks are on the verge of moving a step closer to getting their new arena built, while the Warriors’ arena situation hasn’t changed.
