If Thomas Robinson made plans on playing for Brooklyn, he’s going to have to put them on hold.
It was widely reported and expected that Robinson would sign a 10-day contract with the Nets after clearing waivers, but the ‘clearing waivers’ part didn’t happen. Philadelphia claimed Robinson, primarily to meet the 90-percent cap floor for the season.
Robinson makes $3.7 million this season, more than enough to cover the $3.03 million the 76ers were away from the cap floor.
Still just 23-years-old, Robinson has plenty of time to show the league why he was drafted 5th overall in 2012. Up to this point he has been a major disappointment. At least there’s not much to lose playing for Philadelphia.
