As the ping-pong balls dropped and Heather Cox explained in detail for the 1000th time how the process works, we finally know who will be selecting first in the 2015 NBA Draft.
The Minnesota Timberwolves received the No. 1 overall pick after finishing with the worst record during the 2014-15 season and getting a 25 percent chance to win the lottery. Now, the Wolves will have to compare and contrast Jahlil Okafor and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Then the unexpected happened. While the Knicks, who finished with the second-worst record, expected either the No. 1 or No. 2 pick, they were usurped by Byron Scott and the Lakers, who magically received the No. 2 pick:

Contrast that with the reaction of Steve Mills representing the Knicks, who could hardly believe it:

Laker luck indeed. But who knows if this pick will be enough to help Kobe compete for another title in his twilight years.
Meanwhile, Nerlens Noel wore his finest jersey/suit that blessed the 76ers with the third overall pick:
And Russell Westbrook, a stranger to the draft lottery, as always wore his finest, although the Thunder still didn’t get any luckier than projected:
With an influx of talent waiting to enter the league, things will only get more interesting for the future of the NBA.
