The preseason is a time of optimism for NBA fans. If a team is playing well, its fans will say it’s a sign of things to come. If a squad does badly, its supporters will dismiss it by saying “it’s just preseason.”
During this time of optimism, however, it’s time for a reality check. Only a few squads are destined for greatness, some will be downright bad and a whole bunch will be somewhere in the middle.
So, with the preseason partially over and its results hardly factored in at all (because it’s preseason), let’s look at how all 30 NBA teams stack up, with record predictions. For example, the Cleveland Cavaliers may not start the season the best because of injury issues and Tristan Thompson’s holdout, but they’re a safe bet to be a title contender by the end of the season. That’ll be a bigger influence in their ranking than the fact that the team isn’t at full strength right now.
So, let’s get started.
